Cherating, located some 45 km north of Kuantan. Offering a myriad

* Golf Course - Enthusiastic
golfers will be pleased to know that 40 minutes drive from the Legend
Resort are the 18-hole golf courses of Astana Golf Club.
* River Cruises - Rent
a boat with a tour guide and experience an idylic cruise along Cherating
River and bask in the scenic glory of Pahang's flora and fauna.
Here, you will be greeted by birds chirping, monkeys swinging from
trees and the sounds of exotic bugs.
* Turtle Watching - About
6 km from Cherating is the famous Chendor Beach. From early July
to September, nature lovers will have the chance to watch the green
turtles (or occasionally giant leatherback turtles) toil ashore
to lay eggs. Please take note that turtle watching only takes place
at night.
* Natural Waterfalls -
The
Sungai Pandan Waterfalls which span 11 hectares, is situated 72
km from Cherating and is easily accessible by road. Consisting of
a series of cascading rapids, the falls culminate in a large cooling
pool, which is ideal for swimming. A very popular picnic spot.

Gua Charah - Approximately
1 1/2 hours drive through a scenic oil palm estate, Charah caves
are siteated northwest of Panching, enroute to Sungai Lembing. Formed
millions of years ago and carved by nature, these caves offer an
interesting sojourn. Housed inside one of the caves is a statue
of the reclining Buddha.
* Tasik Chini -
Located
147 km from Cherating and laying majestically among 12,000 acres
of lush tropical wilderness is Lake Chini, Malaysia's second largest
natural natural Lake. Comprising of 12 freshwater lakes, lake Chini
is Malaysia's answer to Loch Ness. Highly recommended is the boat
ride, as you will enjoy the the picturesque villages and virgin
jungles. Angling and canoeing
are especially pleasureable at Lake Chini.
* Batik Painting - For
generations, batik fabric has been handpainted and printed by village
folks. Beautifully finished fabrics and other items ranging from
apparels to accesories make wonderful souvenir gifts to take home.
You can also go one step further by taking a lesson or two an painting
your own batik motives.
